Hello due date...and operation get baby out!

So today is my due date, I can't believe it's here! I remember first finding out when I was pregnant and finding out my due date would be May 2nd...I never thought it would come! But it's here, and I can't believe it:) Still no baby, but hopefully anytime:)

Yesterday I went to Salt Lake with my mom, dad, and little sis to grab some lunch. But not just any lunch, my most favorite meal ever! Fish Tacos from the Red Butte Cafe, I figured I should eat something a little spicy to try to get her out:) After fish tacos we went to Hatch Family Chocolates to grab something sweet, I don't think chocolate has anything to do with natural induction, but it was yummy:) I've been watching "The Little Chocolatiers" on TLC, and it's fun to be able to go to the actual chocolate shop and see the people on TV in the shop. Both Steve and Katie were there working yesterday and they both are so sweet. My favorite chocolates there are the coconut caramels and peanut butter truffles. I also had a raspberry truffle that was delish!

Fish Tacos from Red Butte: these are seriously the most amazing fish tacos
ever. I have yet to find any other fish tacos that can even compare.

I've been going on lots of long walks, eating lots of pineapple, pretty much doing anything in the book to try to get her here. Hopefully she will decide to come soon:)

Last Day in Paris...

Micah and I have done a lot in the past couple of days! Unfortunately, I haven't been able to post before now because we haven't had free internet, and it was hard to find the time. We are now in Gijon and do have free internet! Thus, a very lenghty post with lots of pics:) The last couple days in Paris were really fun. We went to Ina Garten's favorite restaurant in Paris, Le Soleil. I had no idea what it would be like, all Ina said was that it is an "earthy French restaurant". As soon as I walked in I knew what she meant. It was very rustic and natural. Micah and I sat down and looked at the menu, there was nothing under 20 Euros! At this point we were committed-we were already seated and couldn't just get up and walk away! We decided this would be one of our splurges for food. Micah ordered the veal and I ordered the chicken. It was delicious, well worth the money. Before the food they served us bread with the biggest slab of buter I have ever seen! It was delicious. There is way too much for me to tell you all about, so hopefully the following pictures will help tell the rest of my stories. Micah and I are currently busy eating pastries and yummy candies in Spain, it is gorgeous here and I can't wait to share you pics of Spain soon!

I couldn't leave Paris without going to Pierre Herme, look how
fun and colorful the store is!
Pierre Herme vs. Laduree: I couldn't wait to try a macaron from Pierre Herme
and compared it to Laduree. I got a caramel fleur de sel macaron from Pierre Herme,
it was delicious, texture was fabulous and the
filling thick and amazing! However...the winner of the best macaron is....
Laduree!

I also had to top the night off with one more pastry from Laduree,
this time a pistachio and strawberry pastry:)....ok AND a tarte au citron....yes I went a little over board
but when is the next time I will be in Paris?
Of course we visited the eifle tower, and just bare with the
kissing pic:) It is Paris-the most romantic place in the world!

An Over the Top Outing!....

Ok-so I feel like I have been doing alot more eating than baking or cooking, so I apologize for not posting any new recipes but I promise I will get there! However, I have a feeling that whatever the next recipe is that I post, it could never "Top" my lattest and greatest find. My mom and I often like to go to Material Girls in South Jordan. Right next door a cookie shop opened called "Over the Top Cookies". Of course I had to check it out. First of all, as soon as I walked in I was blown away by the many delicious cookies on display. How could I choose just one?! Or even two!? Yep, that's right! I got three! Here are the three I tried:

Toffee Works: Milk Chocolate Chips, pecans, Toffee Bits, and toasted coconut sprinkled over the Top!

Snickered Out: Milk Chocolate Chip Cookies With chunks of Snickers® bar melted over the Top!

Twix Mix Up: Milk Chocolate Chip cookies with chunks of twix® candy bar melted over the Top!

I think my favorite was the Toffee works, but they were all delicious. And I have to say, I would choose one of these cookies any day over any cupcake I have ever had! I know I know I can't even believe I am saying it but it's true. I talked to the owner Rachel for a minute and I could definitely sense she had a love for what she was doing, and boy does she know what she's doing! Make sure you check thier site out here, or visit their store at 1665 W. Towne Center Drive, Suite B3 South Jordan UT. Her cookies are fabulous and I am counting down the days until I can go and get another one, or two, or three...


My food outing didn't end there. My mom and I went and picked up my cousin, her daughter and my grandma and we went to lunch at Trio's in Salt Lake. I have been there a few times now and I never get sick of it. My favorites are their rosemary flat bread served with goats cheese and the three cheese ravioli with the butternut squash. So good! But of course we had to top the day off with dessert (even though we started with it)

We went over to Mrs. Backer's Pastry Shop located at 434 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City, and got my favorite chocolate and coconut covered marshmallows. Each marshmallow is like a little piece of heaven! So good! I can't wait to try to duplicate these, but I know I will never be able to do them justice.

8 years is way too long....

I know I haven't posted in quit a few days but I have been pretty busy. My life long friend from Milwaukee came to visit last Saturday. It had been eight years since we had seen each other! We first became friends when we were three years old. We were the type of friends that as soon as we woke up we were together and were together till the moment we had to go to bed. I moved away from Milwaukee when I was 11, so it's been hard to see each other often but we still keep in touch. It was such a blast to have Lindsey visit. Every time we see each other we seem to pick up right where we left off. Of course during her visit I had to introduce her to the yummy things in Utah.

At Sete Bello in Salt Lake City, the best Italian pizza around!
My favorite pizza of theirs is the marinara, it has no cheese but just
crushed tomatoes, oregano, and lots of crushed garlic all over it! My
husband complains that I smell like garlic for a week after eating that pizza
but it's totally worth it!

We had a fun night up at Sundance with some
Dippidee cupcakes! The frosting is thick and piled high-delicious!

It was so fun to see Lindsey and I know we wont wait another 8 years before we see eachother again!

Girls Day Out

A couple days ago my mom and little sister and I decided to have a fun girls night. We first stopped at the Blue Lemon to have some fish tacos then headed over to Dear Lizzie for a treat. Blue Lemon has many yummy cupcakes and treats but we wanted to shop around a bit so Dear Lizzie it was. I have never posted about their cupcakes and I think it is about time. First of all, they are super cute and girly. The best part about them is the frosting. Very thick frosting piled high. The cake itself is pretty average but the frosting makes the whole thing work. It was fun to grab a cupcake with my mom and sis and feel girly.

Blue Lemon Bistro

Recently, the Blue Lemon Bistro opened in Highland, Utah and I have been anxious to try it out. I finally got the chance yesterday when my cousin and I popped in for lunch. I hadn't heard how the food was, so I had no expectations. The atmosphere was very modern, fun, and cozy. I began reading the menu and simply could not decide what to order because everything looked fabulous! I finally came across their fish tacos and knew I had to give them a try. First, let me just say, I am very picky when it comes to fish tacos. I love the fish tacos from Red Butte Café in Salt Lake City, and I am normally disappointed when I order them elsewhere. However, that was about to change! The presentation alone was beautiful and the taste was equally delicious! I enjoyed the combination of shrimp and salmon. My first bite was heavenly. They were one of the best if not the best fish tacos I have ever had. I no longer have to drive to Salt Lake to get my fish taco fix. The tacos were served with sweet potato fries which were amazing! I don't have any pictures of the food because I was so wrapped up in how amazing it was that I didn't even think about it. On our way out I saw that they had some cupcakes. How could I leave a place without cupcakes? So I went up to the counter and I got the lemon while my cousin got the vanilla. The cupcake, like the tacos, was delicious! My cousin also had a lot of wonderful things to say about the vanilla. I am already counting the days until I visit this bistro again. I am actually a little nerovous it's going to affect my pocket book but a part of me could care less! This is definitely a new great place to eat and I would advise anyone to go and check it out!

My mom has been telling me about this burger place called Five Guys Burgers and Fries. I am not much of a meat eater and I am definitely not much of a red meat eater but I just could not stop thinking about this place so my husband and I finally went. I am a one hamburger a year kind of girl at the most...but after having one of Five Guys' burgers I think that might change! It was really good and just the way I like them. It had a small hamburger patty which I can handle. It was very delicious. I also loved the fact that everything there was fresh. They had many toppings to choose from and all toppings were free! Their fries were cut daily from fresh potatoes. So instead of having a burger a year...I think I might have to have two or three:)

One down two to go, if I am now allowing myself
3 burgers a year and if I want to space them out evenly
the next one wont be for another 4 months, so when
May hits I'm heading over to Five Guys Burgers and Fries!
